Camp Director Profile

For over a decade and a half,under the mark of “SPORTSLINK”, Dr. Bill White has been providing summer camp opportunities for men and women’s basketball officials. The camps have established an excellent reputation for teaching and motivating officials to self-improve their game, while keeping officiating as an avocation in the right perspective in the game of life. He continues to be a guest speaker at many camps up and down the state sharing basketball to anyone who will listen.
A fixture in intercollegiate and high school athletics for decades, White has distinguished himself in the officiating and administrative circles. His experience as a respected NCAA official for over 30 years includes assignments in the Pac-8 & Pac-10, the PCAA (now the Big West), the West Coast Athletic Conference (now the West Coast Conference) in addition to the CCAA, NAIA and Jr. College ranks.
White has been recognized nationally as a Distinguished Official for his contribution to basketball and his work to develop consistent instructional training for officials throughout California, Nevada, and Hawaii as the Instructional Chair for the California Basketball Officials Association (CBOA). He also received the Southern California Coaches Association Merit Award for his contributions to the positive growth of the game of high school basketball.
Dr. White currently serves as the Supervisor of Officiating for the California Collegiate Athletic Association(CCAA) where he oversees all aspects of the conference officiating program in the sports of Men/women’s soccer, women’s volleyball. Men/women’s basketball, softball and baseball.
His administrative background includes 13 years as a Community College Commissioner in southern California and 15 years as the state Rules Interpreter for the CIF.
White served 40 years in public education as a high school Principal, administrator, teacher, and coach. White,and his wife Donna, have two sons, David and Deron, a daughter, Dana, and 11 grandchildren.
