2006 Prospect Camp Picture

The California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) will again hold its annual NCAA Basketball Officials' Developmental Camp for prospects in Las Vegas, Nevada this summer. In an effort to accommodate the increasing number of aspiring officials who wish to be seen and gain exposure to College Supervisors and Assigners, a select number of officials will be invited to attend this camp in one of two sessions from July 21-23, or from July 23-26, 2008.

Officials interested in this camp should fill out the Registration Form ASAP and send a brief resume of background and experience in basketball. Use the Comments box at the bottom of the Registration Form to accomplish this task.

DO NOT select Session I or Session II at this time. After resumes have been reviewed, you will receive notice of acceptance and assigned a Session.

The prospect camp is designed to give qualified men and women officials with previous college officiating experience, an opportunity to demonstrate their readiness to move into Division II basketball.

The Men and Women's Assigners, along with CCAA Conference Observers, will make an assessment on each official as to the acceptance, or future acceptance, into the conference. The CCAA continues to be in a hiring mode. Last years camp saw 21 officials accepted into conference staff positions.

The competition is of the highest quality in which to be challenged. The teams come from throughout the United States, and most players have already committed to four-year colleges or universities.

Officials are encouraged to come to this camp "in shape" and ready to impress the decision makers
